Product Details
ER410 is a martensitic stainless steel welding wire that is air-hardenable and heat-treatable, used for joining similar 12% chromium stainless steels or for overlaying carbon steels for resistance to corrosion, erosion, and abrasion. It provides high strength, hardness, and good mechanical properties, suitable for applications like valve seats, turbine components, and certain oil and gas environments. Welding requires a preheat and post-weld heat-treatment to achieve adequate ductility due to its air-hardening nature. Key Characteristics Material:A martensitic stainless steel, meaning it is heat-treatable and air-hardenable. Corrosion Resistance:Offers moderate resistance to atmospheric conditions, some chemicals, and food acids. Mechanical Properties:Known for high hardness, tensile strength, and galling resistance. Air-Hardenable:The weld deposits harden when cooled in air, often necessitating preheating and post-weld heat treatments for optimal ductility.
