Product Details
ER347L is a Niobium-stabilized welding filler metal, primarily for MIG/TIG welding, based on the 19Cr-11Ni alloy, to improve resistance to intergranular corrosion and offer excellent high-temperature strength. It's ideal for welding AISI 321 and 347 stainless steels, particularly in high-temperature applications within industries like refining, chemical, and food processing. Its Niobium content stabilizes the weld, preventing the carbide precipitation that causes corrosion, and its silicon content enhances weld bead flow and aesthetics. Key Characteristics & Composition Stabilization:The addition of Niobium (Nb) stabilizes the alloy, preventing chromium carbides from forming at grain boundaries and reducing the likelihood of intergranular corrosion. High-Temperature Performance:The alloy provides excellent strength and corrosion resistance in high-temperature environments, up to 850°C (1562°F). Composition:ER347 typically has a 19-21.5% Chromium (Cr) and 9-11% Nickel (Ni) composition, with Niobium added to meet the AWS A5.9 standard for this class of welding wire. Enhanced Weldability:The Silicon (Si) content, ranging from 0.30-0.65%, improves weld flow, resulting in smooth and consistent weld beads with minimal spatter.
