An injection machine (also spelled as injection moulding machine in ), also known as an injection press, is a machine for manufacturing plastic products by the injection process. It consists of two main parts, an injection unit and a clamping unit. To specify a machine, break it down into its component parts. Every is its own peculiar beast, so are the basic components of the machine. They are the clamp, injection unit, and controller. Each has its own function and must be specified to your requirements, or more specifically the requirements of your part. The function of the injection unit is to heat the plastics material to a uniform and homogeneous melt and to inject it into the under controlled conditions of pressure and flow rate. Given the low thermal conductivity, high specific heat, and high melt viscosity of fluoropolymers, these are exacting tasks.
