In electric wiring, a metal plate or any type of conductor is buried under the earth to ensure a good conductive path to the ground. This conductor is called earth electrode.There are mainly 4 types of Earthing systems in India, Plate Earthing, Pipe Earthing, Mat Earthing, and Rod Earthing. Pipe earthing is one of the popular earthing systems in India that suits every soil type.Earthing is defined as “the process in which the instantaneous discharge of the electrical energy takes place by transferring charges directly to the earth through low resistance wire.” Low resistance earthing wire is chosen to provide the least resistance path for leakage of fault current.
