Strength: Delivers significantly higher weld strength than standard 5356, making it great for structural integrity. Corrosion Resistance: Excellent resistance, particularly to saltwater, crucial for marine uses. Weldability: Good ductility and resistance to cracking during welding. Applications: Aerospace, marine structures, pressure vessels, transportation, and military hardware. Technical Details: Classification: ER 5556 (AWS), S Al 5556A (EN ISO 18273). Welding: Used with TIG (GTAW) or MIG (GMAW) processes. Base Metals: Welds well with 5083, 5086, 5454, 5456, and other 5XXX series alloys.
