Areca plates are eco-friendly as well as disposable. These plates are the best alternative to plastic / polymer products and paper-based products. These are made from the shredded leaves of the Areca palm trees.Areca leaf plates are made from the naturally shed leaf sheaths of Areca Nut Tree. The areca leaves are simply collected, pressure washed, scrubbed, sun dried and then with the application of heat and pressure formed into appropriate shaped plates.The leaves and leaf plates are used for offering naivedyam to god during worship and distribution of prasadam to devotees. They are extensively used for serving food during marriages, religious festivals, community feasts, etc.Uses. Areca nut and the plant as a whole is used widely in India and South Asia as: a masticator for chewing purposes, vegetable, medicine, stimulant, timber, fuel wood, clothing, wrapping, lubricant, tannin and so forth. The nut is chewed with the betel leaf as it has a stimulating effect.Patravali, also known as Pattal, Vistaraku, Vistar or Khali, are eating plates, bowls or trencher made with broad leaves in India and Nepal. It is mainly made from sal leaves, dhak leaves and bauhinia leaves. It is also made from banyan tree leaves.
