Product Details
ER90S-B3 is a copper-coated, solid wire filler metal, often used in TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding, for joining 2.25% Cr-1% Mo creep-resistant steels used in high-temperature applications like power plants and petrochemical industries. It provides excellent mechanical properties, good high-temperature strength, and radiographic quality welds, especially after post-weld heat treatment (PWHT). Key applications include welding pipes, tubes, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers that operate at elevated temperatures up to approximately 600°C (1100°F). What it is: Solid Wire:ER90S-B3 is a solid, low-alloy steel welding wire, not a cored electrode. Copper-Coated:It features a copper coating for improved feeding and arc stability, according to Caston Electrode Company. Cr-Mo Alloy:Its nominal composition is about 2.25% chromium (Cr) and 1% molybdenum (Mo), as indicated by the "B3" in its classification, which provides high-temperature strength.
