ERCuNi 2 is not a specific standard, but rather a generic designation for copper-nickel (CuNi) filler metals that are used for welding copper-nickel alloys, often to themselves or to each other. It's a nickel-copper alloy filler wire, identified by its excellent resistance to corrosion in seawater and suitable for marine applications, such as offshore platforms and desalination plants. ERCuNi filler metal can be used for gas metal arc welding (GMAW/MIG), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW/TIG), and oxy-fuel welding of different copper-nickel alloys. Key characteristics and uses: Material:It's a nickel-copper alloy used as a filler wire for welding. Application:Primarily for welding wrought or cast 70/30, 80/20, and 90/10 copper-nickel alloys. Welding processes:Suitable for MIG, TIG, and oxy-fuel welding. Corrosion Resistance:Excellent resistance to corrosion, erosion, and cavitation in seawater makes it ideal for marine environments and desalination plants. Surfacing Applications:Can also be used for surfacing applications where high corrosion resistance is needed.
