A paper cup is a disposable cup made out of paper and often lined or coated with plastic or wax to prevent liquid from leaking out or soaking through the paper, A disposable cup is a type of tableware and disposable food packaging. Disposable cup types include paper cups, plastic cups and foam cups. Expanded polystyrene is used to manufacture foam cups, and polypropylene is used to manufacture plastic cups.Disposable paper cups are easily decomposed by microorganisms . Hence they create lesser pollution issues and can be easily buried as compost or can be easily burned causing less pollution compared to disposable plastic cups.The blanks are inserted into cup-forming machines that wrap the blanks into a cup shape and add the bottom. The seams of the cups are heated in order to make the cups liquid proof. Finally, the machine trims the cups into their final, round shape.Disposable cups are made up of thermocol. It is a synthetic petroleum product which is made by restructuring of the chemical bonding of the polystyrene, to develop a stretch polystyrene. In this process, thermoplastic granules are expanded through the application of steam and air.
