There are two types of compression moulding process, i.e., cold compression and hot compression moldings. In this process, for thermosetting matrices, normally an intermediate material called moulding compound is used.A compression molding press is the most widely used production method for rubber molding. It is ideal for low to medium volumes and can be used for a largest variety of part sizes and materials, including high cost materials, and applications that demand extreme hardness.Compression is a process under which volume of the system is gradually reduced, pressure and temperature increases where heat transfer may or may not be possible. While in expansion process volume is gradually decrease with the decrease in pressure and temperature and heat transfer may or may not be possible.
