An earth electrode is a material used for earthing. In electric wiring, a metal plate or any type of conductor is buried under the earth to ensure a good conductive path to the ground. This conductor is called earth electrode.The earth electrode is connected to the electrical circuit and fitted into the ground near the switchboard of your home. This way, any excess electricity from the circuits in the building will travel safely along the earth wire to the metal in the electrode and reach ground without causing anyone harm.Earth rods and their fittings are used to provide the interface to ground in all soil conditions in order to achieve satisfactory earthing systems in overhead and underground electricity distribution and transmission networks – providing high fault current capacity on low, medium and high voltage substations, towers.
