An injection machine (also spelled as injection moulding machine in ), also known as an injection press, is a machine for manufacturing plastic products by the injection process. It consists of two main parts, an injection unit and a clamping unit. What is Injection Moulding? Plastic injection moulding is the process of melting plastic pellets (thermosetting/ thermoplastic polymers) that once malleable enough, are injected at pressure into a mould cavity, which fills and solidifies to produce the final product. Injection is a process in which a thermoplastic polymer is heated above its melting point, resulting in the conversion of the solid polymer to a molten fluid with a reasonably low viscosity. This melt is mechanically forced, that is, injected, into a in the shape of the desired final object.
