A pedestal grinder is a similar or larger version of grinder that is mounted on a pedestal, which may be bolted to the floor or may sit on rubber feet. These types of grinders are commonly used to hand grind various cutting tools and perform other rough grinding.An angle grinder is a handheld power tool that can be used for a variety of metal fabrication jobs that include cutting, grinding, deburring, finishing and polishing. The most common types of angle grinder tools are powered by electricity; either corded or battery powered.Stand to one side of the grinder until the wheel reaches operating speed. Bring work into contact with the grinding wheel slowly and smoothly, without bumping. Apply gradual pressure to allow the wheel to warm up evenly. Use only the pressure required to complete a job.
