Product Details
ER320LR is a stainless steel welding filler metal (AWS Class ER320LR) designed for welding similar base metals, especially those requiring high resistance to corrosion in harsh chemical environments like sulfuric and sulfurous acids. Its key feature, indicated by the "LR" (Low Residuals), is the controlled low levels of carbon, silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur, along with tightly controlled niobium and manganese, which minimize hot cracking and micro-fissuring in the weld metal. This makes it suitable for Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW). Key Characteristics Composition: Contains approximately 20% Cr, 34% Ni, 2.5% Mo, and 3.5% Cu, with added Nb for intergranular corrosion resistance. Low Residuals: Lower levels of C, Si, P, and S compared to ER320 reduce the risk of cracking and fissuring. Improved Weldability: The reduced residuals allow it to be welded using standard techniques for austenitic stainless steels. Corrosion Resistance: Offers excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals, particularly sulfuric and sulfurous acids and their salts.
