Product Details
ER410NiMo is a martensitic stainless steel welding wire, classified under AWS A5.9, designed for TIG and MIG welding of similar cast and wrought steels, including ASTM CA6NM. Modified from 410 stainless steel with added nickel and molybdenum, it offers enhanced mechanical properties, good weld deposit ductility, and excellent resistance to hydrocavitation, corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Pre-heating is required, and post-weld heat treatment should not exceed 1150°F (620°C) to maintain ductility. Key Characteristics & Composition Classification:AWS A5.9 solid wire. The "ER" prefix signifies it can be used as either a filler rod or electrode. Chemical Composition:Modified 410 stainless steel with increased nickel (approx. 4%) and added molybdenum (approx. 0.6%). Microstructure:The added nickel and molybdenum eliminate the ferrite in the microstructure of 410 stainless steel, improving mechanical properties. Properties:Offers a balanced combination of good ductility, a tough, hardened weld deposit, and excellent resistance to various forms of corrosion, including hydrocavitation and sulfide stress corrosion.
