ER430 is a ferritic stainless steel welding wire designed for welding AISI 430 and similar alloys, known for its moderate corrosion and oxidation resistance, high-temperature strength, and magnetic properties. Key characteristics include a high chromium content (16-18%), low carbon (below 0.12%), and minimal nickel, making it suitable for applications such as automotive exhaust systems, kitchen equipment, and architectural trim. The "ER" designation indicates it can be used as either a filler wire or a rod. Key Characteristics & Properties Material:A ferritic stainless steel. Chemical Composition: Chromium (Cr): 16-18% for corrosion resistance. Carbon (C): Kept low (typically <0.12%) to prevent carbide precipitation and maintain corrosion resistance. Nickel (Ni): Low content (typically <0.75%).
