ER70S-2 is a premium, triple-deoxidized mild steel TIG welding wire used for welding carbon and low-alloy steels, including on rusty or mill-scaled surfaces, due to its addition of Titanium, Zirconium, and Aluminum. It produces smooth, stable, and X-ray-quality welds, making it ideal for applications such as pipe welding, root passes, structural steel, and offshore projectsKey Characteristics Triple-Deoxidized:Contains Titanium (Ti), Zirconium (Zr), and Aluminum (Al) to remove impurities and provide a stable weld pool. Surface Condition Tolerance:The deoxidizers make it an excellent choice for welding over mild surface rust, dirt, or mill scale. Weld Quality:Produces radiographic-quality welds with a stable, smooth arc and minimal spatter under optimal conditions. Puddle Characteristics:A more rigid and stable weld puddle with a slightly faster solidification rate and a sharper edge than ER70S-6. Application Versatility:Suitable for both single and some multi-pass TIG welding applications.
