It is an essential tool in the post-harvest processing of groundnuts, improving productivity and reducing manual labor. Key Components: Feeding Hopper: Where the unshelled groundnuts are loaded. Allows controlled feeding to the decorticating unit. Decorticating Chamber: Contains a rotating drum or cylinder with beaters or blades. Applies mechanical force to crack the shells without damaging the kernels. Separation Mechanism: Uses airflow or vibrating sieves to separate the shells from the kernels. Some models include aspiration fans to blow away the lighter husks. Frame and Stand: Sturdy metallic frame that supports all components and absorbs vibrations. Power Source: Operated manually (hand-cranked), electrically, or with a diesel engine. Modern machines often use electric motors for higher efficiency. Working Principle: Groundnuts are fed into the hopper. They enter the decorticating chamber where the rotating drum cracks the shells.
