Product Details
Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea), also known as peanut, is an important oilseed crop grown in many parts of the world. After harvesting, groundnuts must be processed to separate the kernels (seeds) from their outer shells or pods. This process is known asdecortication, and the machine used for this purpose is called aGroundnut Decorticator.

Main Components of a Groundnut Decorticator
Feeding Hopper: Entry point where groundnut pods are fed into the machine.
Decorticating Drum/Cylinder: Rotating drum that applies mechanical pressure to break the pods.
Concave Screen: Semi-circular screen that helps in separating kernels from the shell.
Oscillating or Vibrating Sieve: For grading and cleaning.
Blower or Fan: Separates lighter shells from heavier kernels using airflow.
Output Chutes: Separate outlets for kernels and husks.
Working Principle
Groundnut pods are fed into the hopper.
They enter the decorticating drum, where they are rubbed or crushed between the drum and concave screen.
The mechanical action breaks the pods and releases the kernels.
The mixture of shells and kernels is passed through a sieve or blower.
The lighter husks are blown away, and the heavier kernels fall through and are collected.
