A Melt Flow Index (MFI) Tester (also known as an Extrusion Plastometer) is a precision laboratory instrument used to measure the ease of flow of molten plastic resins. It calculates the Melt Flow Rate (MFR) or Melt Volume-Flow Rate (MVR), which indicates the resistance to flow (viscosity) of a polymer at a specified temperature and pressure.
