Pappadam (also spelledpapad,poppadam, orappalam) is a thin, crisp, disc-shaped food typically made from seasoned dough—commonly ofurad dal flour(black gram)—and either sun-dried or cooked through roasting or deep frying. Traditionally, papads are handmade, a labor-intensive and time-consuming process.
