It is the most common type of heat exchanger in oil refineries and other large chemical .The product flows through the inner tube while the service does it through the space between the two tubes. Tube-in-tube heat exchangers, or double-tube heat exchangers, are specially designed for heating or cooling products with low-medium viscosity.A shell and tube heat exchanger consists of a bundle of tubes mounted inside a cylindrical shell. One substance moves inside the tubes, and another of a different temperature flows outside the tubes. This allows conduction to occur between the materials, cooling one and heating the other.
