What is the difference between servo stabilizer and normal stabilizer?

Purchase price is low and the owner hardly needs to open the cabinet but the working life is only two to five years. A servo stabilizer costs more at the time of purchase or the motor needs a brief service every few years but the unit lasts ten to twenty years.
What does a servo stabilizer do?
A servo stabilizer takes any voltage that rises or falls and delivers an even output shielding delicate gear from damage caused by surges or dips. A small motor is linked to an autotransformer. Which is better, servo or relay stabilizer?
Servo stabilizers outperform relay stabilizers for most tasks because they are more accurate and more reliable. A servo model holds the output voltage within one percent of the target, while a relay model moves the voltage in five-to-ten-percent steps. A small motor turns the autotransformer inside the servo unit - the correction is smooth and continuous - the unit reacts faster, never cuts the power, lasts longer and copes better with the sudden surge that appears when delicate equipment like computers or medical devices is switched on. Relay stabilizers cost less plus are simpler - they are adequate for ordinary household appliances but their contacts wear out, they click audibly, they switch slowly and the voltage keeps drifting up and down - as a result they usually last two to five years, whereas a servo unit lasts ten to twenty. Choose a servo model for a home that contains electronics or for any industrial site that needs tight tolerance - choose a relay model only when the budget is tight and high precision is unnecessary. The servo version costs more at the time of purchase but it gives better value over the years.
Which is better, servo or static stabilizer?
Servo and static stabilizers both keep the voltage steady but static stabilizers are usually the better choice for most modern uses because they contain no moving parts. A static unit reacts in 20 - 30 milliseconds, while a servo unit needs anywhere from fifty milliseconds to five seconds. Static models run at more than 98 % efficiency, accept a wider range of input voltage plus need almost no maintenance. Servo models remain the most accurate holding the output within ±0.5 % to ±1 % and they tolerate the heavy inrush current drawn by motors but also other inductive loads - therefore they still suit factories and large appliances. Static units run silently, do not wear out mechanically and include built in filters that remove electrical noise - they fit homes, computer gear and other sensitive electronics. Use a servo stabilizer for high power industrial loads - pick a static stabilizer when you want speed, high efficiency as well as little upkeep in a house or office.
