Rubber compression molding is a process where you take a preformed rubber material and place it into a cavity of a heated mold. You then close the mold in order to shape the preformed material using pressure and heat for a specific amount of time in order to cure the rubberCompression moulding is when pre-heated raw material is “compressed” into a cavity mould, while heat and pressure is continuously applied to the mould until the rubber is cured. Benefits of Using Compression Moulding.Compression Set is defined as the decrease in thickness of a rubber which has been deformed under specific conditions of load, time and temperature. Normally shown as a percentage. Generally tested to ASTM D395 Method B. Generally a lower percentage of Compression Set indicates a better quality of Material.
