This can be done quickly, if required, or very gradually with precise control.Double-acting hydraulic cylinders feature two connection ports. The plunger within a double-acting cylinder advances and retracts with hydraulic pressure. Advancing and retracting hydraulically provides both push and pull force and precise control of the plunger and faster retraction speed.A double-acting pneumatic cylinder has two ports that control the movement of the rod. The compressed air causes the rod to move in two directions by extending and retracting without the assistance of a spring.
