They are used to increase the pressure (measured in psi and bar) of a water source when that source is not adequate for the system it's supplying.Types of fire pumps include: horizontal split case, vertical split case, vertical in-line, vertical turbine, and end suction.The impeller is powered to rotate within the volute, creating centrifugal force which hurls the water from the impeller eye outward through the impeller.
