The Oxidation Induction Time (OIT) Apparatus is a high-precision, benchtop thermal analysis instrument engineered to evaluate the thermo-oxidative stability of polymers, elastomers, and plastics (such as HDPE pipes, cable sheathing, geomembranes, and raw resin compounds). Operating on the principle of Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) or Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), the system precisely measures the time interval between initial exposure to an inert gas environment and the onset of exothermic oxidative degradation under an automated, high-purity oxygen stream at a constant elevated temperature.
