How a Roti Maker Works
- Heating Plates: The roti maker has two non-stick plates that heat up to cook the dough evenly.

- Pressing Mechanism: The top plate is pressed down onto the dough, which helps flatten it into a uniform thickness. This mechanism ensures even cooking and can reduce the need for manual rolling.
Using a Roti Maker for Tortillas
- Prepare the Dough: Mix your tortilla dough (usually made from flour, water, and a bit of fat like oil or lard) until it�s smooth and pliable. Divide the dough into small balls.
- Preheat the Roti Maker: Turn on the roti maker and let it heat up. Some models have an indicator light that tells you when it�s ready.
- Flatten the Dough: Place a dough ball between the heated plates. Gently press down to flatten the dough into a tortilla shape.
- Cook the Tortilla: Let the tortilla cook for a short time. The roti maker should have an automatic mechanism that presses the dough and cooks it evenly. You may need to flip the tortilla manually if your model doesn�t do it automatically.
- Check for Doneness: The tortilla should have light brown spots and be cooked through. Adjust the heat settings if needed.
