COD Digester
COD Digesters are a laboratory apparatus used for determining the amount of organic matter in a water sample. The COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) test measures the oxygen in the water that is equivalent to the organic substance. These Digesters are used in environmental and wastewater analysis to assess the pollution level in water bodies. The work cycle of the digester is based on digesting the sample with a strong oxidizing agent, usually potassium dichromate, under high temperature and pressure. This process oxidizes the organic compound in water and the amount of the oxygen consumed is measured during the reaction.
