A mixer, depending on the type, also called a hand mixer or stand mixer, is a kitchen device that uses a gear-driven mechanism to rotate a set of "beaters" in a bowl containing the food or liquids to be prepared by mixing them. What goes into the most commonly used building material? Concrete is a mixture of cement, air, water, sand, and gravel–it's as simple as that! Not exactly. The typical concrete mix is made up of roughly 10% cement, 20% air and water, 30% sand, and 40% gravel. Concrete is one of the most widely used construction materials, and it is made from three basic components: water, aggregates, and Portland cement. The construction industry uses two main types, which are called ready-mix concrete and site-mixed concrete As the name suggests, this type of mixer produces concrete one batch at a time. Batch mixers either have a drum or a pan, consisting of blades, which when rotated prepares the concrete mix. The speed of rotation, angle of the blades and in some cases the angle of inclination of the drum can be controlled.
