A triplex piston pump is a reciprocating positive displacement pump that uses only three pistons. This type of pump is often used for high pressure applications e.g. hydraulic systems. Due to its robust design, it is capable of pumping high viscosity fluids and fluids which contain solids.Triplex pressure washer pumps have driveshafts that run parallel to the driveshaft which powers the crankshaft. These pumps are often found in professional units which have the longest amount of lifespan of all pumps.A plunger pump is a type of positive displacement pump where the high-pressure seal is stationary and a smooth cylindrical plunger slides through the seal. This makes them different from piston pumps and allows them to be used at higher pressures.Triplex plunger pumps are the highest quality pressure washer pumps, offering longer life and better performance.
