Trough belts are great for conveying loose or bulk materials, especially if the material is abrasive.The troughed carry idlers have a center horizontal roller and two out board rollers that are angled at 20o. Flat carry side belt conveyors are possible and can be utilized in case of height restrictions that would prohibit a troughing belt idler, but a troughing profile is preferred to better cradle product.Troughing angle describes the angle the belt forms on the carrying side while running over idler rollers. Belts are troughed to allow the conveyor load and to transport materials. Common troughing angles include 15°, 20°, 25°, 30°, 35° and 40°
