Properly configured, an impulse heat sealer can join two sheets of fairly heavy thermoplastic materials.Induction sealing creates a hermetic seal by passing a capped bottle under the induction sealer in a non-contact process. The system's sealing head produces an electromagnetic field that heats up the foil liner inside the cap. The hot foil in turn melts the polymer coating on the inner-seal.Induction sealing is a non-contact heating process that welds a foil laminate (called an inner-seal) to the lip of jars and bottles. The sealing process takes place after the filling and capping operation. Capped containers pass under an induction cap sealer mounted over a conveyor.In fact, the FDA recognises induction sealing as an effective means of providing tamper-evidence. Consumers now expect a "safety-seal" when they open a container filled with pills, tablets or liquid OTC products.
