ER4043 is a 5% silicon-aluminum Al-Si alloy filler metal for welding aluminum alloys, particularly 6XXX series, known for its excellent arc stability, low spatter, high fluidity, and crack resistance. Its high silicon content provides superior puddle fluidity for easier welding and is a preferred general-purpose choice for applications like car bodies, bike frames, furniture, and castings. Key Characteristics Composition:An Al-Si alloy with 5% silicon. Standard:Conforms to AWS A5.10 and EN ISO 18273 S Al 4043 (AlSi5). Arc Performance:Provides a stable arc with minimal spatter. Weldability:Offers excellent fluidity and ease of welding due to the silicon content, which lowers the melting point. Crack Resistance:Enhances resistance to post-weld cracking. Appearance:Produces a smooth bead with good mechanical properties. Color:Has a gray tint after anodizing. ApplicationsER4043 is suitable for welding various aluminum alloys, including: 6XXX Series Alloys:Including 6061, 6063, and others that benefit from post-weld heat treatment
