A triplex piston pump is a reciprocating positive displacement pump that uses only three pistons. This type of pump is often used for high pressure applications e.g. hydraulic systems. Due to its robust design, it is capable of pumping high viscosity fluids and fluids which contain solids.A plunger pump is a type of positive displacement pump where the high-pressure seal is stationary and a smooth cylindrical plunger slides through the seal. This makes them different from piston pumps and allows them to be used at higher pressures.Commercially, plunger pumps are commonly used in cleaning, disinfection, pest control, agriculture, and other applications in their electrically powered equipment such as pressure washers, misters and sprayers.Plungers are commonly made from a ceramic, carbon steel, or stainless steel base material. They are then left as is, or coated depending on the application they will be used for.
