A triplex piston pump is a reciprocating positive displacement pump that uses only three pistons. This type of pump is often used for high pressure applications e.g. hydraulic systems. Due to its robust design, it is capable of pumping high viscosity fluids and fluids which contain solids.A plunger pump is a type of positive displacement pump where the high-pressure seal is stationary and a smooth cylindrical plunger slides through the seal. This makes them different from piston pumps and allows them to be used at higher pressures.Pressure pumps are typically centrifugal pumps with impellers that pull water in and pushes the water out at increased pressure. The impeller works like a vane that rotates on an axis that pulls water in.Commercially, plunger pumps are commonly used in cleaning, disinfection, pest control, agriculture, and other applications in their electrically powered equipment such as pressure washers, misters and sprayers.
