The screw conveyor is composed of a pipe with a welded steel strip that is formed into a continuous helix. The helix is referred to as the fighting.The screw conveyor with Hollow spiral flights (auger flights) are used to pass heating or cooling liquids around the helix. Typically both the hollow centre pipe and the hollow spiral flight are used as a heat exchange to cool, heat or thaw the material being conveyed.
